Miner-Baker Studio Photography has been a cornerstone of Indiana’s photographic community for over 80 years. Founded in 1947 by Charles Miner and Maxine Baker, the studio initially gained renown for its exceptional wedding photography. Over the years, it grew into one of the largest wedding photography studios in the state, known for capturing moments that would last a lifetime.
In 1975, after Charles Miner passed away, Maxine continued to run the studio with the help of her son, , and by 1985, she retired from wedding photography.
Our commitment to capturing memories was passed down to the next generation, with Julie Baker, the daughter, also playing a role in the business. Together, they carried on the legacy of capturing memories and preserving moments through photography. Julie, who had been involved in the family business from an early age, took the reins and expanded the studio’s capabilities.
In the early 1990s, Miner-Baker Studio embraced the digital age, recognizing the potential of digital imaging in the realm of photo restoration. This shift marked a turning point for the studio, opening up new possibilities for restoring and enhancing old, damaged, and faded photographs. Julie continued to focus on perfecting this new craft, and after stepping away from wedding photography in 2006, he dedicated himself fully to photo restoration—a service that would go on to become the studio’s core offering.
